Palm Sunday begins Holy Week, the commemoration of Jesus' last days leading up to his crucifixion. What begins as a joyful processional on Palm Sunday ends on Friday with a belligerent and defiant crowd shouting, "Crucify him!" Through these final days, the heart of God and the mission of Jesus come into full clarity—for God so loved the world that he sent his only Son, so that everyone who believes in him may not perish but have eternal life. Indeed, God did not send the Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him. (John 3:16-17)
